MOVING SCULPTURE, PERFORMANCE
A typical German taxi (an ivory – white Mercedes), fully occupied with three human skeletons, is driving around in Essen, a city in the west of Germany, located in the Ruhrgebiet. Following the main traffic routes, the taxi passed by stations, taxi-stands and other places where customers wait for taxis. In the evening and night hours the taxi was unobtrusively illuminated with a green light.
The work was made in the scope of Sukûn/ Stille, a project of the Mobile Städtische Galerie im Museum Folkwang and the Essener Vekehrs AG in Essen, Germany, 19th September – 2nd October 2003
